Injective Launches Unified Governance Interface with Commonwealth

Injective is collaborating with Commonwealth to launch an all-in-one governance interface for the Injective community. The newly upgraded governance platform will consolidate all governance activities such as proposals, voting, and discussions into one unified platform.

Using the new governance portal, you can take part in discussions similar to Discourse or Reddit while also voting on protocol level changes. Any user can access the governance portal with their MetaMask, email or GitHub account. This means users can set up personalized real profiles or remain entirely anonymous when participating in discussions. The choice is now yours!

Injective’s platform on Commonwealth was custom built for the protocol with a native integration with the Injective Chain. Commonwealth is the crypto native, all-in-one community & governance tool used by many of the top DeFi projects including Near Protocol. Commonwealth will combine the DAO use cases of Telegram, Discourse, and Snapshot all into one place with additional functionalities for Injective such as the following:

  • Discourse Import: The Injective forum will launch with the most up to date data on the existing Discourse discussion forum that has been imported to Commonwealth. This will allow the community to seamlessly transition to the new platform.
  • Discussions: Community members can participate in any form of governance discussion in threads similar to Reddit.
  • On-chain Governance: The Injective Protocol will be able to propose and vote on governance proposals all on-chain through the new Commonwealth forum.

A New Age of Decentralized Governance

Injective has been built to be the first fully decentralized derivatives exchange protocol. Injective has been governed by a community led DAO from the very start where every single market listing, program and protocol level upgrade was voted on by the larger community.

In an effort to ensure that views remain unbiased, the Injective Labs team has abstained from every governance vote so as not to skew the outcome of any one vote. The new Injective governance portal will help to further revamp the entire governance process by unifying the proposal, voting and discussions forums into one integrated interface.

“The Commonwealth team has watched the Injective ecosystem transition from “just” an exchange to an all encompassing DeFi ecosystem. As we integrated native support for Injective Metamask support on Commonwealth, we found the tooling that Injective has built incredibly easy to use. No doubt users and developers alike will take advantage of that core feature across the Injective ecosystem. We’re here to help drive discussions around all the ecsosystem’s DeFi products for years to come,” said Dillon Chen, Co-Founder and CEO of Commonwealth Labs.

There will also be upgrades to the Injective governance portal on Commonwealth in the near future. Soon, the forum will also be equipped with crowdfunding capabilities that will give each discussion thread the choice to turn into a fundraising opportunity.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in the discussions and voting processes so that Injective can continue to be further decentralized over time!
