Sonic and Injective Build Industry's First Cross-Chain Smart Agent Hub

Sonic, the leading gaming Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) on Solana, and Injective are launching the first cross-chain AI agent platform. This innovative solution will integrate the Solana and Injective ecosystems through a new Smart Agent Hub, leveraging Sonic's HyperGrid technology. The AI Agents built on the SVM will seamlessly integrate into the Injective ecosystem through the Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC).

Key Features of the Smart Agent Hub

The Smart Agent Hub is designed to provide robust tooling and frameworks that empower developers to create, manage, and monetize AI agents in a decentralized ecosystem. By enabling agent tokenization and co-ownership, it opens new economic opportunities through fractional ownership and revenue sharing.

Some innovations that power the Smart Agent Hub include:

  • Injective SVM Grid: By utilizing Sonic's HyperGrid infrastructure, both teams will operate a Solana-based rollup. This setup enables direct communication between the Injective WebAssembly (WASM) blockchain and Solana via the Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC).
  • Cross-Chain Asset Interoperability: An optimized bidirectional bridge will facilitate seamless transfers of assets such as SOL and Solana based tokens as well as wrapped and native Injective tokens.
  • Unified Developer Experience: Developers on Injective can deploy Solana-based applications using a single RPC endpoint, track transactions through an SVM Explorer, and access comprehensive deployment documentation.

Being that this is a pivotal development for the AI agent sector, this further cements Injective’s vision of a Multi-VM future where any developer can build any agent using their choice of top VMs like EVM, SVM, WASM, and more. In addition, Injective’s AI agent SDK, iAgent, enables anyone to build multi-purpose AI agents from scratch in a few steps.

Looking ahead, iAgent paired with Smart Agent Hub will make creating new and diverse cross-chain agents a breeze. From a user perspective, this development also brings a unified framework for AI agents to operate cross-chain to carry out any function.

Expanding Opportunities for Developers

The collaboration aims to enhance the reach and awareness of AI agents through various distribution channels and platforms. Notably, applications like Sonic X, a TikTok-style app developed by Sonic, will play a crucial role in supporting this initiative for users and developers alike. The hub will also support on-chain agent capabilities, enabling training and monetization of agents across Web3 games, DeFi applications, and real world assets (RWAs).

The SVM Growth Story

The SVM is quickly becoming one of the top VMs adopted by developers. In fact, according to the Developer Report, Solana had the most new developers exploring their ecosystem out of any other altVM layer-1, including Ethereum! While Solidity still reigns for the most total devs, Rust and the SVM are quickly gaining market share.

The demand for innovative tooling around AI agents has been validated by successful protocols like Pump.fun and Virtuals Protocol, which have generated substantial trading volumes. The market cap for the AI agent vertical currently sits at $11.2B market cap with Fetch.AI and Virtuals contributing over 50% to that metric. Compared to other verticals like DeFi which has a $145B and stablecoins at a $208B market cap, this makes the AI agent vertical one with much more room to grow.

Smart Agent Hub will soon become a central hub of activity on Solana and Injective as projects across gaming, entertainment, DeFi, and social platforms get onboarded and integrated into the Hub. Users will then be able to carry out any number of on-chain activities all powered by AI agents.

Looking Ahead

The integration of this Smart Agent Hub will roll out in phases over the coming months, with an initial testnet deployment on Injective expected in Q1 2025. Developers and users interested in the Smart Agent Hub can stay updated through Sonic’s and Injective’s official channels for a chance at an early beta release.
